MLB Betting Blog – Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

06/28/2011

We hope that this blog can become a regular feature here at Vegas Experts and can be a sort of “one stop shop” for MLB betting and a good source to help you make MLB picks.

We need to start off by congratulating Marc Lawrence, who is now on a 13-0 MLB Run following last night’s 5-0 winner on the Cincinnati Reds, who came in as +125 underdogs! Subscribe today and don’t miss Marc’s next winner.

The Red Sox and Phillies start a marquee three-game series tonight in Philadelphia. Live Betting is available on this matchup tonight at Bodog Sportsbook. The pitching matchup of Josh Beckett vs. Cliff Lee should be excellent. We’ve found a couple of key betting trends for this matchup as the Phillies are 9-0 Under in Interleague Play this season while Boston is 8-2 as an underdog.

The Florida Marlins are a terrible 3-22 in the month of June with Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Seattle being perhaps the most painful. However, did you know that half of the Fish’s losses this month have come by one run? Might not be a bad team to look at on the run line. Click here for a free preview of tonight’s Florida vs. Oakland matchup.

Tampa Bay vs. Cincinnati should be an interesting matchup tonight. Rays starter David Price has a 20-5 team start record off a team loss while the Reds are averaging 6.2 runs per game vs. lefties.

There is an early game today as the Giants and Cubs play a day/night doubleheader. First pitch for Game 1 is at 2:20 eastern time. Former oddsmaker Lenny Del Genio is 6-1 the last two days and has the Game 1 winner for you right here.

Finally, we want to let you know that the Iron Horse Carlo Campanella is releasing his Interleague Game of the Year tonight! This is a very popular pick and Carlo is on an 8-3 winning run in MLB.

Lenny Del Genio – NBA Playoff Betting Blog

05/20/2011

Followers of the once-famed (and thought to be now defunct) “zig zag” theory were finally found reaping rewards in the Conference Finals as Game 1 losers Miami and Oklahoma City came back to not only win ATS in their respective Game 2’s, but also take their games straight up.

There is no NBA playoff action on Friday for some ungodly reason, but the action resumes Saturday with Oklahoma City a three-point favorite over Dallas in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. The Eastern Conference Finals finally resume on Sunday with the Heat a five-point favorite over the Bulls.

Chicago is 12-4 against the spread as an underdog this season. Those of you that have read previous blogs know that underdogs started out like gangbusters in these NBA playoffs, going 26-16-1 ATS in the first round. They got off to a 3-1 ATS start in Round 2, but after that favorites have struck back. They closed Round 2 on a monster 15-3 ATS run as chalk was a perfect 5-0 ATS in the Heat/Celtics series. For those wanting the official tally, it is now an incredible 34-34-1 ATS.

There was a big story about the Dallas Mavericks that made the rounds on Thursday. According to just about every major sports betting database, the Mavs’ run of covering 15 straight games (11 in the playoffs) was the longest such streak anyone could find. In true Vegas fashion, they went out and lost outright at home as five-point favorites to the Thunder.

Since we last blogged, Over bettors have gone 6-5. Like NBA sides, totals selections have also evened out with Under bettors holding a minor 36-33 advantage. Like underdog bettors, under bettors once held a significant advantage of 26-17 after one round.

Lenny Del Genio – Week 3 NFL Blog

09/23/2010

Tennessee (42.5) at NY Giants (-3): Titans are 4-0 SU all-time vs. the Giants since moving to Tennessee. In fact, the franchise is 33-15 ATS its last 48 non-conference games. Both teams won and covered in Week 1 only to suffer bad losses in Week 2.

Cleveland (37) at Baltimore (-10.5): Ravens have won and covered four straight in this AFC North rivalry. They have also covered six straight as double-digit chalk. However, there is a great system on the Browns here that says to play against DD home favorites, off a SU loss as chalk. The system is 42-14 ATS since 1983.

Detroit (42.5) at Minnesota (-12): The NFL is guaranteed at least one 0-3 team as this is the only battle of winless teams on the Week 3 slate. The Vikings are on 9-1 SU, 6-2-2 ATS run in this NFC North rivalry. The same system from the Browns game is active on the Lions here.

Dallas (47) at Houston (-3): Can the Cowboys really fall to 0-3? This, to us, is the most intriguing game on the card. Dallas is just 4-8 ATS L12 vs. AFC teams. LW Houston beat a Redskins team that beat the Cowboys. The Texans have never started a season 3-0.

Washington (-3.5) at St. Louis (39): Rams have covered three straight vs. the Redskins, including covers as DD dogs each of the last two seasons. They have also lost 14 straight home games! Washington has only 106 yards rushing in two games and this is their first road game.

Philadelphia (-3) at Jacksonville (44.5): Vick gets the start over Kolb for Philly. Jags have covered just four of their last 17 home games.

Indianapolis (-5.5) at Denver (48): Tough spot for a Broncos team still dealing with the apparent suicide of teammate Kenny McKinley. Colts are 7-2 SU/ATS last nine meetings. Both teams lost in Week 1, but rebounded with wins and covers last week.

San Diego (-5.5) at Seattle (44): Seahawks are 6-5 SU and 8-3 ATS L11 home games. Chargers QB Rivers is 11-5 SU vs. the NFC, winning five straight, three of them coming on the road.
