John Ryan – College Football Blog

Illinois is 5-0 for the first time since 1951 and that is before Dick Butkus roamed the fields destroying quarterbacks and running backs. In that year, 60 seasons ago, the Illini ended up 9-0-1 playing to a 0-0 tie with Ohio State. They destroyed Stanford in the Rose Bowl by 33 points.

Illinois will probably be 6-0 after they play a weak Indiana team Saturday, but the Ohio State game still looms. I don’t think the game will be 0-0, but I do think it is their turn to defeat the Buckeyes.

Auburn is at it again winning three games this year by seven points or less. Last year they won seven games by eight points or less and five games by three or less points.
